Health information should tell you where it came from and who checked it. This page explains both for every medical page on our site.

Our editorial policy: every medical page is written from named sources, reviewed by a board-certified dermatologist, dated, and corrected when we find or hear of an error. WichitaDermatologists.com isn't a clinic, and our pages don't replace advice from your own provider.

Who medically reviews our pages?

Every page about a condition, treatment or procedure is reviewed by a board-certified dermatologist before publishing, and again at each scheduled update. The reviewer's name, credentials and review date appear at the top of the page. Reviewers can require changes or block publication.

Our medical reviewer:

  • Name and credentials: Reviewer to be named
  • Board certification: Reviewer to be named
  • Practice: Reviewer to be named
  • Relationship to this site: Not yet verified

We don't publish a medical page without a named reviewer. Pages waiting for review are marked as such.

What sources do we use?

We rely on medical organizations, peer-reviewed research, government sources, and facts that Wichita practices publish about themselves. Community discussions show what patients go through; we quote them as experiences, never as medical evidence. Every price and local fact carries its source and date.

Source type Examples Used for
Medical organizations American Academy of Dermatology, National Psoriasis Foundation, National Eczema Association, Skin of Color Society Condition and treatment information
Government and research FDA, US Preventive Services Task Force, NIH/PubMed, peer-reviewed journals such as JAAD Safety, screening guidance, statistics
Professional surveys American Society of Plastic Surgeons fee data National price benchmarks
Practice-published facts Provider pages, price transparency lists, service pages Local providers, services, fees
Public registries NPI Registry, certifying boards Credentials and provider details
Community discussions Public forums and reviews Patient experiences and questions only

How do we handle facts we can't verify?

We say so on the page instead of guessing. If a price, wait time, credential or statistic isn't confirmed, the page marks it as pending and explains what's missing. We'd rather show a gap than fill it with a number we can't stand behind.

Rules every page follows:

  1. No invented numbers. Statistics come from a named source, or they aren't published.
  2. No invented people. Authors, reviewers and providers are real and named, or the spot stays empty.
  3. Experiences stay experiences. Patient stories are framed as "people report," never as proof a treatment works.
  4. Provider details from providers. Gender comes only from a provider's own bio or the NPI Registry. We never record or guess race.
  5. Correct titles. Physician assistants and nurse practitioners are never called "Dr."
  6. Comparisons use published criteria. No practice can pay to change its position.

How often are pages updated?

Medical pages are reviewed at least every Not yet verified months, and sooner when guidance, drugs, prices or local details change. Price and availability details are rechecked every Not yet verified months. Each page shows its "Last updated" date.

Pro Tip: Check the "Prices checked" or "Roster checked" date on local pages. Prices and staff change faster than medical guidance.

How do we handle advertising and partners?

Our business arrangement is described on our About page. Partners never write or approve our medical content, and reviewers check clinical accuracy without regard to who pays us. Paid relationships are labeled wherever they affect what you see.

How can I report an error?

Email Not yet verified or use our contact page with the page link and what's wrong. We review every report within Not yet verified business days. Fixed errors update the page and its date.
